Spinal Decompression in Aurora
Who Benefits from Spinal Decompression
If you suffer from cervical pain (cervicalgia), lumbar pain (lumbar radiculitis), sciatica, disc bulges and herniations, you know it affects nearly every minute of your life. Getting in and out of vehicles, walking to and from work, trying to pick up your kids or grandkids, and even simply sleeping can be painful endeavors.
Preparing for Your First Appointment
Arriving early to complete paperwork is recommended, and patients should also wear comfortable clothes. If you also have paperwork or scans from outside care, such as MRIs and X-rays, those will also be helpful to bring along for our chiropractic care team.
When you begin your first appointment, you will have a consultation exam. The chiropractor will take you through your current range of motion, conduct muscle testing, X-rays, and also examine your posture through posture analysis. They will review any past records you’ve brought with you.
From there, they will compile a care plan that includes protocol you should follow, from two weeks to 12 weeks, depending on the severity of your case, your symptoms, and how you respond to treatment. The first appointment will take about 30 minutes, and any appointment after takes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes.
Proven Results at Your Pace
As they begin their treatment protocol, patients will begin to experience a decrease in their symptoms. They will feel less pain, but also see an improvement in functional capacity and an increase in how they engage in their activities of daily living (ADLs). There will also be a decrease in the disk and cervical nerve damage.
